Our key philosophy is that the community must benefit from our partnership. It is very important to us that not only this happens, but that teams and individuals are also invested in. In return, we work with happy and supportive staff who provide an outstanding level of support to our students.
We’ve travelled and have experienced firsthand the inevitable exploitation of local communities that take place, even with good intentions. For this reason, we feel our Argentine representation makes a huge difference in ensuring that we operate in an ethical matter that truly benefits all involved; we know the country and speaking to people in their own language is vital. Every aspect of our service has been thoroughly discussed, evaluated and mutually agreed upon to ensure everybody is happy and benefitting.
Susie & Ada
Ada’s from Argentina and grew up in the States. Susie’s from the UK and jumped around Russia and the Middle East. Yet a chance encounter in London started out as a friendship and shared love of tango which has grown into MedicAmigos.
Both of us are life-long explorers and well understand the mix of excitement and nerves of going to a new country for the first time. Ada is our tech guru, Argentina expert and outdoors fanatic. She’s travelled the length and breadth of the country and has plenty of local advice for making the most of your time outside of the hospital. If you’re planning to travel further, she’s also travelled widely in Latin America.
Susie has extensive experience organizing healthcare internships and has helped hundreds of students prepare for their trips and get the most out of their time overseas. She’s here to help you from the initial point of enquiry, to discussing your interests and setting up your tailor-made internship, to when you arrive in-country and are looked after by our colleagues in Mendoza. If you’re interested in signing up to our program or are curious to know more, shoot her across an email! She likes questions!
